Police Arrest Woman Who Threatened People with a Rock, Broke Windows with a Hammer on Greenwich Ave

A Stamford woman, Carolyn Rose Podgurski, 56, was arrested Sunday by Stamford Police for an incident involving a landlord dispute.

Stamford Police learned there was an active warrant for her arrest by Greenwich Police, stemming from multiple incidents that had occurred in November 2023, when she threatened people with a rock, interfered with officers and broke windows with a hammer on Greenwich Avenue.

She was charged with Criminal Mischief 1,Criminal Mischief 2, Criminal Mischief 3 (two counts), Interfering with Officer/Resisting, and Threatening/Physical Threat 2.

Podgurski was able to post the required 7% of her $100 bond and was released. She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 13, 2024.

Greenwich Police arrested Podgurski back in 2018 after receiving a report that a woman had broken into a residence on Cross Lane in Cos Cob. When they arrived they found a broken window pane and determined Podgurski had entered the residence, startling a resident who was sleeping. Podgurski was charged with Criminal Trespass 2, Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Mischief 3.
