Body Discovered in Mianus River Park on Saturday

On Saturday Greenwich Police announced they are investigating the death of a white male discovered in Mianus River Park.

According to Captain Kraig Gray, hikers came upon a white male in his 60’s or 70’s who was deceased on a trail in the Greenwich side of the park.

Captain Gray say the initial call came into the Stamford Police Dept.

After the initial call, police determined the man was actually on Greenwich property.

Investigators are on scene and there is a strong police presence in the area. Lt Gray asked residents to avoid the area. “It is early in the investigation. More information will follow,” Captain Gray said in an audio release to media.

According to a statement to media Lt. Slusarz said preliminary investigation has determined that there is no threat to the public and the cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
