At 1:00am on Friday, Greenwich Police were detailed to Bible Street on the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a car hitting a utility pole.
Upon arrival, officers observed the driver, Roger Pierce, 58, of 184 Bible St, standing outside his car. Based on officer observations of slurred speech and being unsteady on his feet, it appeared the accused had been operating under the influence of alcohol.
Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted at the scene. The accused was placed under arrest and charged with DUI and Failure To Maintain Lane. Mr. Pierce has a court date on Sept. 11 in Stamford Superior Court and is being held in lieu of a $250 bond.
