A Driver Who was Spotted by Greenwich Police Swerving over Double-Yellow Faces Charges

On Tuesday, Greenwich Police responded to an incident at around 12:45am on Delavan Ave. According to Greenwich Police a Nissan Murano traveling west on Delavan Ave was observed crossing the double yellow line, and traveling over the the double yellow for about 1/8th of a mile before police stopped the car.

The driver, Mr. Agustin-Lopez, 30, of 364 Stillwater Ave in Stamford was arrested and attempted to leave the scene of the initial stop and turned left onto Mead Ave where he was stopped a second time.

Mr. Agustin-Lopez’s eyes were red, glassy, and bloodshot and police detected the odor of alcoholic type beverages on his breath. Mr. Agustin-Lopez was asked to submit to a series of field sobriety tests which he was not able to perform to standards. He was arrested and charged with Failure to Drive Right, No License and DUI.
