Julian Curtiss Elementary School Celebrates 2nd Annual Family Fun Day

On Saturday, October 3rd, Julian Curtiss Elementary School held its 2nd annual Family Fun Day in celebration of welcoming new and old families back to school.  “Family Fun Day is a school wide community building celebration that creates an exciting way for students, parents, and teachers to connect. Days like Family Fun Day promote inclusiveness, helpfulness and responsibility for all members of the community.  It is such a pleasure to see families gather on a weekend to enjoy each other’s company and support their school,” said Principal Trish McGuire.”

While JC Dads were grilling hot dogs on the barbecues, other parent and older sibling volunteers sold homemade chili, baked goods, and other food generously donated by local vendors.  The students were learning martial arts, dancing to the DJ, having temporary tattoos applied, decorating small pumpkins, playing soccer and much more.  One of the event highlights included a red carpet fashion show featuring JC students modeling brand new JC spiritwear.

The local business community graciously supported our JC Family Fun Day.  The Julian Curtiss PTA thanks the following businesses for their contributions: Steve Demasco’s Shaolin Studios, DJ Matt Kiger of Peez Out Productions, Double Up Dance Studio, Garden Catering, Soccer with Aldwin Store, Graham’s, Smart Kids, Wishlist, Costco, Starbucks, Meli-Melo, Harvest, Rink & Racquet Ltd and La Fenice Gaelateria.

Julian Curtiss School prides itself on our international and diverse character. This is a school that represents 60 Nations, 30 Languages, One Great School.
