Patricia Marciano passed away on August 8, peacefully in her home, surrounded by family.
Patricia was born to Canio and Francesca Silo on October 6, 1937 in New Rochelle, NY and grew up in Larchmont, NY. Patricia was the oldest of three siblings, brothers Anthony and Mark.
She moved to Greenwich in 1968 with her late husband of 50 years, Anthony Marciano and became a devoted mother to her three children and 7 grandchildren, who fondly called her Nana Pat.
Pat was a pioneer in her day. A graduate of LIM College (formerly called Laboratory Institute of Merchandising). She began her career at Bloomingdales on 59th street NYC and became a Bridal Buyer. Her eye for clothing and affable nature played well into her retailing success. Pat gave up her ascending career to focus on being a homemaker and a mother to her three children. She was there for her kids, every day of her life. An amazing cook and hostess, Pat always had abundant family dinners and welcomed any and all friends and neighbors who wanted to eat.
Anywhere she went in public, she talked to everyone, Pat liked to say she “never met a stranger.” Her positivity and steadfast catholic faith fed her spirit and gave her strength every day until the very end.
When not doting on her kids, Pat expressed her creativity in her cross-stitching, oil-paintings, ceramics, and a true passion and gift for quilting. From designing quilts on graph paper, to fabric selection, she would cut and sew each piece with love and create a masterpiece that would take a year or more to finish. Too many quilts to count, she gave them to family and friends, each with a personal embroidered note. Many of her quilts won awards and soon will be auctioned off for charity. She led a weekly gathering of her close friends to teach and create together in “The Quilt Group.” Meeting every Tuesday to work on their projects and learn from Pat. She would patiently teach and guide. The quilt group shared their enter lives full of joy, laughter, and at times, sadness. Taking trips to Lancaster, PA and other crafty hubs.
Pat’s life was one filled with sharing joy and laughter with all people around her; she will be dearly missed.
Patricia is survived by her three children Lawrence, Robert, Joanne (Scott), and seven grandchildren (Zachary, Brianna, Madelynn, Mason, Olivia, Grace, and Amanda).
To honor her life, family and friends will gather Monday, August 12 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 13, 10:00 am at St. Paul RC Church, Greenwich, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, New Rochelle.
