Greenwich Women’s Golf Club Will Open 50th Season at the Griff on April 7

The Greenwich Women’s Golf Club will open its 50th season at Griff Harris Golf Course on April 7. Interested golfers are encouraged to attend the meeting which will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Fairways Restaurant at The Griff. President Kaisa Newhams will present information about this year’s program and explain the weekly schedule of tournament play.

This annual kick-off meeting provides an opportunity to meet other golfers, sign up for membership and schedule a full season of golf.

Season play begins on April 14th with an Opening Day Scramble.

Tee times for G.W.G.C. are on Thursday mornings. Members can play the weekly tournament with the field of women on Thursdays or with another member any day except Tuesdays. Any female over the age of 18 who can score 125 or less is invited to join.

Members do not have to be Greenwich residents. The annual membership fee for membership is $80.00 which includes the GHIN handicap fee.

On July 21st the Greenwich Women’s Golf Club will host their annual Swing Fore Hope fundraiser which raised over $12,000 last year. The Dowling Group is sponsoring the tournament prizes for the second year.

The money raised will benefit Kids in Crisis and the Connecticut Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association. Dozens of local businesses donate raffle prizes to support the charities.
