Marina & Boatyard in Cos Cob Sell for $6.1 Million – Up to the Minute Greenwich Property Transfers

The property at 33 River Rd sold on Dec 7, 2021 for $6,100,000 from Bob Incorporated to BB 33 River Road LLC, a a Delaware limited liability company with its principal office in Westport, CT.

Sportsman’s Den

Built in 1958 the property includes a wood frame, 4630 sq ft. boat dock, waterfront, slip-commercial boat, paving, piling/bulkhead, and more than four other building and yard items.

The property has been home to The Sportsman’s Den for 70 years, selling fishing gear, bait and tackle. A post from owner Billy Ingraham on the Sportsman’s Den Facebook mentioned the pending sale and the outpouring of messages and calls from members of the boating community concerned that Cos Cob might lose one of its last affordable places to keep a boat.

“The fate of The Sportsman’s Den, the seasonal boaters, and the other businesses in the marina are not clear as of yet. The potential buyer has not specified any official plans, but the rumors are flying. It would be devastating to the boating community to see one of the last affordable places to keep a boat in Cos Cob be turned into anything else.”

“Although I am concerned about our future, I’m not losing hope just yet. I’m hoping this potential buyer will do the right thing for this neighborhood and town,” he wrote.

Prior to the sale this month the property last sold from GF Properties to Bob Inc in 1994 for $1,350,000.
