Historic Stone Castle in Greenwich Sells for $10.39 Million

At Greenwich Town Hall the Assessor’s office has recorded the sale of 17 Hemlock Drive for $10,390,000 on Aug 31, 2022 from Fong Sheung Kun, Yu Le Eunice to Hodge Rock LLC.

Per the Assessor’s office, the property features 21 rooms, including 9 bedrooms, 9 full baths plus five half baths, tennis court and detached garage.

The 13,500 sq ft residence, situated on 4+ acres, is better known as Freestone Castle or Hemlock Castle.

The Edwardian-inspired mansion was built by architect James C. Green and dates back to 1902.

According to real estate ads the property is the town’s “largest castle,” and features soaring ceilings, ornate detailing, exquisite craftsmanship, and large windows that fill the home with natural light while offering views of award-winning, park-like grounds.

In addition to the main residence the property features additional 7,000 sq ft combined in the carriage house and staff apartment.
