Person Fatally Struck by Train Near Cos Cob Train Station

A person was struck and killed by a New York City bound passenger train near the Cos Cob station Wednesday afternoon around 3:30pm.

Police and EMS crews responded.

Metro-North warned customers to expect delays on the New Haven Line.

The 5:31 train from Grand Central did not make stops at Cos Cob, Riverside or Old Greenwich. Customers were accommodated at Stamford by the 6:35 pm train.

As recently as April 12, a man identified as Tyrell Kelvin Grant of Manhattan, 26, was fatally struck by a train near the Greenwich train station. The incident was investigated as non-accidental and non-criminal in nature.

On May 4, a Metro-North train struck and killed a pedestrian near the Cos Cob train station around 5:30pm. He was later identified as Michael Haden Crouse, 38, of Newington, Connecticut. Authorities said there did not appear to any criminal activity associated with the fatality, and it did not appear to be accidental.
