Winston Robinson, 70, Civil Rights Leader

Former NAACP President and long time member of the Democratic Town Committee Winston Robinson died on Jan 26 at the age of 70.

Quick with a smile, Winston was a quiet, constant and presence in town.

In addition to working as a manager for the housing authority, he had many roles in Town organizations, he served as president of the Greenwich NAACP and on the boards of Barbara’s House (formerly Community Centers Inc.), the Town’s Human Services Department, the First Selectman’s Community Development Block Grant Advisory Committee and the Boy Scouts of America. 

Winston had also worked with the Red Cross board, the Transportation Association of Greenwich, the Greenwich Scholarship Association and the United Way Planning Council.

A church service for close family and friends will be on February 18 at 11:00am at Bethel AME Church at 42 Lake Ave Greenwich (across from the Greenwich Hospital Emergency Room entrance).
