Thomas Edward Zack, of Riverside, passed away peacefully on January 8 with his family and companion Michelle Sherwood at his side. He was 78.
Born in Port Chester NY July 4, 1946 to Edward and Julia Zack. Tom was a graduate of Archbishop Stepinac High School and attended Empire State College.
Tom was hired in 1969 as a career firefighter with the Village of Port Chester IAFF Local 1971 retiring in 2007. He was also a 50 year member of Harry Howard Hook & Ladder Co. #1.
Soon after retirement, Tom was appointed to the Town of Greenwich Alarm Appeals Board continuing his passion for civic duty.
He enjoyed many years of building and fixing stained glass windows, stamp and coin collecting, as well as model railroading. Tom also loved playing golf with family, friends and fellow retirees.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jacqueline. He is survived by his sons, Thomas (Adrienne), Christopher (Katie), and Timothy (Michelle); his cherished grandchildren, Rachel, Nathan, Ethan, Owen, Julia and Jenevieve as well as his dear brother Edward (Liza).

A memorial mass will be held 10:30am Friday at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Greenwich.
