Richard G. Nickerson, 92, a longtime resident of Greenwich passed away at his home with his family by his side.
He was born January 2, 1932, to Walter Nickerson, Sr. and Geneva Keith.
For many years he and his brother owned and operated Nickerson P.C. Brake & Alignment.
After his retirement he took a part-time job at the Griff Harris Golf Course and ended up staying there for 20 years.
He was a past Captain of the Putnam Engine Hose Co., of which he was a member for 70 years. He was recognized and honored for saving the life of a child during a fire.
He was an avid golfer and played as often as he could. His other love was hunting in the Catskills at the Rye Hunters Club Cabin, of where he was a member.
Rich and his wife of 69 years, Marcelle, spent many winter months playing golf in Pompano Beach, FL which they loved.
He is survived by his loving wife Marcelle; his children, Richard Jr. (Mary), William (Mary), and Nancy Lanuk; his grandchildren, Kevin (Marina), Kelsey, Erin and Shelby.
He was predeceased by his brother Walter, sister Isabelle, and granddaughter Amy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am on Friday at Sacred Heart Church, Byram. Committal is private.
