Nina “Anne” LoBalbo

Nina (Anne) LoBalbo, born in 1921 passed away Tuesday March 20, 2024 a few weeks shy of her 103rd birthday.

She is predeceased by her beloved mother and father Vincenza and Raphael Ilardi, her husband Alfred, and son Salvatore. Anne was born on Manhattan’s Italian American upper east side, she was a seamstress by profession and began her career in Manhattan’s Garment District.

Shortly after the invasion of Pearl Harbor and America’s entrance into World War II Anne relocated with her husband to Texas while he completed his advanced training with the 4th Armored Division. After the war Alfred and Anne moved with their two young sons to Cos Cob where they built their home and Anne spent several years as an administrative assistant with the Boy Scouts of America located in Greenwich.

She will be remembered for her sharp wit, ability to share remarkable detailed memories, and good humor. She was generous, loving, and often an inspiring force of nature.

She is survived by her son Ralph and his wife Nancy, her many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Interment and memorial services will be held privately.
