Max Moreira, age 74, of Greenwich, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 15, 1950, in the Azores Islands of Portugal, Max was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Max honorably served his country in the Vietnam War, completing three tours that showcased his bravery and commitment.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Stephanie Perry Moreira; his children from a previous marriage, Angela Marie Salciccia (Frank), Michelle Moreira, and John Moreira (Rebecca); and Stephanie’s children from her previous marriage, Steven Conroy and Angelique Conroy.
Max leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Stephanie Fiore, Tara LeBlanc (Logan), Chloe Squillante, Ashley DeFreitas (John), Guilliana Salciccia, Bianca Moreira, and Angelina Moreira. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, the lights of his life: Brandon Flores, Watson LeBlanc, Luke LeBlanc, Dominick DeFreitas, and Mia DeFreitas.
Max was known for his warm smile, quick wit, and unwavering support for his family and friends.
A wake will be held at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home on January 15, 2025, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral service will take place at St. Catherine’s of Siena in Greenwich on January 16, 2025, at 10:00am, followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America. Max leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and compassion. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew him.
