Eileen Marie (Tierney) Robbins, 78, of Lewes, Delaware, died on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Wilmington Hospital in the AccentCare Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late Peter J. Robbins.
Eileen was born December 16, 1944, in Canaan, Connecticut. Daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Calkins) Tierney. Eileen graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in 1962.
In 1965, after earning her nursing degree from the St. Francis School of Nursing in Hartford, Eileen began her lifelong nursing career at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich. In 2007, she retired to Lewes, Delaware where she enjoyed the beach and volunteering at Conley’s Community Thrift Shop in Lewes, Delaware.
She is survived by her children, daughter Colleen (Jeff), and son Timothy (Lauren) and grandchildren; Riley Glackin, Grace Glackin, Kendall Glackin, Keegan Glackin, Connor Glackin, Colin Robbins, and Maeve Robbins; her brother, James Tierney (Judy), her sister, Shelia Bezrucik, and brother-in-law Dave Robbins (Carole); and several loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, June 27, at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church, 178 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
