Dorothy A. Eremita-Schmid, of Greenwich, passed away November 24, 2023, at age 75.
She was born January 21, 1948 in the Bronx to George and Ann Eremita.
After being raised in the Bronx, the family moved to Westchester NY where Dorothy developed a career working with AT&T in the Human Resources area. As an HR Director she was most proud of her involvement in developing the first ever repatriation programs for their international employees.
Once retired Dee continued to use her gregarious nature devoting her time to the love of family as well as following her strong commitment to her Faith with St Paul’s Church. As a Eucharistic Minister she shared communion during Mass as well as continue on to visit the local nursing homes and those infirmed.
Dorothy also found much fulfillment and joy teaching catechism to the children of St. Paul’s congregation.
Dorothy is predeceased by her beloved husband, Carl Schmid and survived by her cherished son, Carl Schmid and dear sister, Elisa and brother in law Richard Friedman.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on December 2 at 10:00am at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Greenwich, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
