Bruce DeWitt Dixon, 91

Bruce DeWitt Dixon, age 91, died on December 21, 2023 at home according to his
family. He had been a recent resident of Stamford, Connecticut, and previously of
Greenwich, Connecticut for 40 years.

He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of the late Frederick J. and Ethel D. Dixon, and was a graduate of Loomis-Chaffee School, Windsor, Connecticut and Harvard College. After serving for two years as an officer in the U.S. Navy, he joined the accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst, now Ernst & Young, in Cleveland in 1957, became a partner in 1966 and transferred from Cleveland to New York City in 1981. He retired in 1991.

During his professional career and in retirement, he was active in several not-for-profit organizations in New York City and Greenwich.

He is survived by his wife, Helen McCully Dixon, four children; Christopher Dixon (Susan) of Hadley, Massachusetts, Timothy D. Dixon (Yvonne) of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Lisa Dixon Bugos (Mark) of West Hartford, Connecticut, and Cynthia Dixon Conway (Edward) of Manchester, Massachusetts; two step children, Carrie McCully Brown (John) of Sweet Briar, Virginia, and Timothy M. McCully (Joanna) of Silver Spring, Maryland. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and two step-great grandsons. He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Engel Dixon in 2001, and by his sister, Barbara D. Fike, in 2004.

There will be no memorial service and burial will be private.
