Audrey was born to Laurie Meyer and John Niblo, March 25, 1997 in Princeton NJ. The third of four children, Audrey moved to Old Greenwich in 2007.
She attended Community Park school in Princeton, Old Greenwich School, Eastern Middle School, Winston Preparatory School and Greenwich High School where she graduated in 2015.
She began cheerleading at age 8 for Princeton Pop Warner. That passion continued with the North Mianus Bulldogs, Liberty All Stars and Gold Coast All Stars, competitive cheer gyms.
She was an avid reader from her youth, which turned into a passion for writing.
She loved crime and medical drama television. Academic accolades include English and Writing Awards throughout her education.
She was featured in Greenwich Time, where she courageously spoke out against bullying — having been a victim of bullying herself. She was ready to stand up for and stand next to all walks of life.
She was a member of Greenwich High School’s NAMES Team. Audrey would again be featured in Greenwich Time highlighting her Greenwich High School Senior Internship at the Greenwich Animal Hospital where she assisted, often working through lunch.
In college she wrote for Her Campus, a multiple university journalism website publication. This became a platform to showcase her photography talent behind the camera as well. Some of her published articles include, “April *Snow* Showers – Dude Where’s My Spring?”, “How To Deal With Stress” (an article where the first piece of advice includes looking at pictures of dogs), and “Surviving Allergy Season 101”.
Her college education began at St Bonaventure University, her father’s alma mater and then she transferred, enrolling at Sacred Heart University in the spring semester of 2017 and thrived — calling the school a place where she finally felt like she fit in.
She continued her efforts against bullying with Sacred Heart’s Anti-Bullying Club and Chorus where she publicly spoke in front of faculty and peers with honesty and poise.
As an active member of theta phi alpha sorority, having just received an award for “most study hours logged”; Audrey was well known by many on campus.
Her family remembers her as the hardest working person they know. A brave and kind soul who persevered despite her challenges, often far greater than she let on. Audrey faced obstacles and fears head on and often far exceeded expectations. She was an animal lover and had a knack for remembering small details most would often forget. She would go to the ends of the earth to help those she loved and even those she barely knew.
Those fortunate to have known her Audrey reflect on her radiant contagious smile, sparkly eyes, and big tight hugs. Audrey spoke up for herself and stood up for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves. She offered friendship and loyalty to all. She was truly a brave and compassionate soul.
Audrey is survived by her parents John Niblo, Laurie Meyer; sisters Nicole and Cassidy, brother Glenn, Grandparents John and June Niblo of Nanuet NY, and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Visitation at Leo P Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch street in Greenwich. Sunday May 6, 3:00 to 7:00pm and Monday May 7, from 9:00am to 12:00.
A Memorial service will be held at the chapel at Sacred Heart University Campus at 1:00pm, Monday May 7.
