Anthony J. Benvenuto, a lifelong resident of Riverside, passed away September 2, 2023, at age 95. He was born June 23, 1928, to Rocco & Angelina Benvenuto.
He proudly served in the US Navy where he was stationed in Key West during his tenure of service. Anthony began his career as a postman for the Old Greenwich Post Office. Following that, he was the manager for many years, at the Benniesez Liquor Store in Riverside.
He was an avid golfer who loved to play the local courses and he enjoyed winters spent in Stuart, Florida where the golf game continued. Anthony loved music and especially loved to dance. He’d be the first on the dance floor when the band began to play. Anthony was a pro at Texas Holdem’ and other card games, as well.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Claudette, cherished children, Anthony J. Benvenuto Jr (Lily), Deborah Murphy and step-daughters, Elizabeth Koelewyn (Rudolf) and Suzanne Strazza (Steven), 10 dear grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Anthony is predeceased by his son, Daniel Benvenuto and siblings, Emil and Frank Benvenuto and Rita Robustelli.

Funeral Mass Thursday 10:00am at St. Catherine of Sienna followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
