What About Those Zoning Regulation Amendments?

On Tuesday night the Planning and Zoning Commission brought in legal expert Brian Smith from Robinson & Cole to present the rationale for the regulation changes the Planning & Zoning staff is proposing.

As explained, the amendments are intended to create greater consistency with state statutes and to reduce town legal liability.

The Commission acknowledged it had viewed the changes as administrative in nature and had thus not engaged in more active initial communication with the public.

The Town Planning Director, Katie DeLuca, also gave a presentation on the reasons behind the proposals. Here are the PDF links to the two presentations.

The proposal was left open and will most likely be heard again at the Sept. 27 meeting.
