LWV Greenwich is sponsoring “America at a Crossroads: Foreign Policy and Trump 2.0” with foreign policy expert, political satirist, and Greenwich resident Hagar Chemali. Ms. Chemali has worked in a range of senior national security and public affairs positions for the United States government and is the host and creator of an award-winning new show on YouTube called “Oh My World.”
She will be joined by NewsNation anchor and Greenwich resident Hena Doba to discuss the most significant foreign policy challenges facing the new administration and the approaches we are likely to see over the coming months.
Hagar Hajjar Chemali is a political satirist, foreign policy expert, and host and creator of an award-winning world news show on YouTube called Oh My World! She worked in the U.S. government for 12 years in a range of senior national security and public affairs positions. She is a commentator and writer on national security and U.S. foreign policy, and is featured regularly on MSNBC, CNN, BBC, and Bloomberg. She is also CEO and Founder of Greenwich Media Strategies, an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s GeoEconomics Center.
Hena Doba joined NewsNation in 2024 as the anchor of the weekend edition of Morning in America (Saturday and Sundays, 7-10 a.m. ET). Prior to joining NewsNation, Ms. Doba served in various roles at Cheddar News for the past five years, including as host of Cheddar News’ Wake Up with Cheddar. Previously, she worked as an anchor and correspondent for CBS News where she led The National Desk with Hena Daniels from 2015 to 2019 covering national and international stories and reporting live from the New York Stock Exchange for CBS affiliates across the country.
Before CBS, she anchored the 11 p.m. newscast at WFSB-TV in Hartford, Connecticut and worked as a general assignment reporter at WTOC-TV in Savannah, Georgia and WGCL-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to broadcast television, Ms. Doba has served as an adjunct professor at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and Capital Community College. She began her broadcasting career as a reporter at WWTI-TV ABC50 in Watertown, New York.
Ms. Doba holds two bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and English from the University at Buffalo. She was features editor for the university’s paper, The Spectrum before graduating in 2002
