Homeowners Urged to Check with Greenwich’s Wetlands Agency Prior to Embarking on Projects on their Land

Recent Wetlands meetings have included projects with property owner violations and cease and desist orders, and words shared by land use attorneys, experts, and interveners including “rectify,” “mistake,” “adverse impact,” “travesty,” “perpetrators” and “denuded.”

At Monday night’s Wetlands meeting, which went late into the night, one attorney referred to a “chainsaw massacre.”

Specifically the agency suggests residents come to the Wetlands counter in town hall to inquire as to whether their project requires a permit.

All activities conducted within the Upland Review Area require their review.

Speak to a wetlands professional on counter about your property specifically.

Wetland counter hours: 8:00am – 1:00pm Monday through Friday on the Second Floor of Town Hall. Office: (203) 622-7736
