Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo to Propose Town Budget Tuesday at 6:00pm

From the First Selectman’s office:

First Selectman Fred Camillo will publicly present his proposed 2024-25 municipal budget on Tuesday night, Jan 23, at 6:00pm.

The presentation will be done before the Board of Estimate and Taxation’s Budget Committee and can be watched both in person and live on Greenwich Community Television (GCTV) Channels 24 (on Verizon) and 79 (on Optimum).

The presentation and subsequent public hearing will also be streamed on the GCTV YouTube channel and will be recorded and uploaded.

Camillo will present his proposed operating and capital budget for the 24-25 fiscal year at 6:00pm and will then be immediately followed by a presentation on the proposed Greenwich Public Schools budget by Superintendent of Schools Toni Jones.

Once Dr. Jones has concluded, a public hearing will then begin with those who attend in person able to speak about the proposed budgets.

You must appear in person in order to make a 3-minute public statement at the hearing but an online form for comment is available for people who cannot attend.

First Selectman Camillo is encouraging residents to appear either in person or use the online form to make clear what they prioritize in the new budget.

In the coming weeks, the Budget Committee will do its departmental reviews as part of its consideration of the budget. The first review will be on Jan. 30 with the Office of the First Selectmen and the Budget Committee will continue its reviews throughout February, culminating in a decision day on Feb. 27.

Members of the public are allowed to attend the Budget Committee’s Town department reviews but these meetings do not have public comment at them.

More information about the budget and the schedule of upcoming meetings are posted here.
