DPW To Start Construction on Shore Road Sidewalks

The Town of Greenwich Dept of Public Works Civil Engineer Project Manager for the Shore Road Sidewalk Project (Town Project No. 21-27), Ian Brown, shared news that construction is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

All necessary documentation has been finalized, and the contractor, A. Vitti Excavators, LLC, is preparing to mobilize to the site.

Construction will begin at the intersection of Sound Beach Avenue and Shore Road and proceed southwest toward Greenwich Point, terminating at the intersection of Shore Road and North Crossway.

During this first phase of construction, the contractor will begin sawcutting in preparation for the excavation of portions of the roadway and adjacent right-of-way. As construction progresses, there will be periods when alternating one-way traffic will be necessary.

Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control. At the conclusion of each workday, the roadway will be restored to a drivable condition.

The project is currently anticipated to be completed by the end of the year. This is a preliminary estimate and may be affected by weather and other unforeseen conditions.

Construction will take place during normal construction hours:

Monday–Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
