DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
The Department of Public Works will begin construction of new curbs, sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and drainage facilities along Sound Shore Drive and Strickland Road in the vicinity of the Cos Cob Train Station beginning Monday, July 14, 2014.
The project involves constructing new sidewalks on Sound Shore Drive and Strickland Road to provide continuous pedestrian routes to the proposed Cos Cob Park.
Presently, there are portions of the aforementioned roadways which lack sidewalks and create unsafe conditions for pedestrians.
All construction will take place during normal business hours. The project will be completed by October 1, 2014.
- There will be daily lane closures
- Temporary traffic control devices will be installed to protect motorists and pedestrians.
- Parking lots and spaces may be closed
