Electrify Your Life EXPO Set for Saturday

The Future Comes to Greenwich with the Electrify Your Life EXPO on Saturday, June 18 at the Cos Cob train station.

The Town of Greenwich Conservation Commission is promoting e-Vehicles, e-Bikes and e-Landscaping for the transition to an all-electric lifestyle.

Electric cars will be on hand to view and to test drive. An experience for the entire family, the EXPO has something for everyone.

Audi, Hyundai, Nissan, Kia and Tesla will be represented. The EV Club of Connecticut will be there to talk about how EVs now have much longer ranges — the new Tesla Model S has a range of over 400 miles — and how buying an EV is the best way to immediately lower your carbon footprint.

Greenwich leads the state with 1,371 EVs registered in the last six months of 2021 and that trend is continuing this year. Not only are the cars federally subsidized with a $7,500 tax credit, but they are virtually maintenance free. Best of all, EVs completely eliminate the $5 average cost today for a gallon of gasoline.

Electric bikes are commanding more of the two-wheeled market and visitors will be able to feel the difference in this emerging technology that provides a whole new experience to commuting and running errands. Owning an e-Bike is a vote for complete streets infrastructure.

Hear the difference in Electric Landscaping Equipment, which is gaining market share with its quiet and emission-free operation. And for those who want to mow your lawn while you sleep a robotic mower will be roaming the Expo.

Because playing with cars isn’t just for those with a license a remote car obstacle course will be on hand for the kid in all of us — not to mention hoverboards, Segway and much more fun.

Experts will answer questions about electrifying your life and helping to save the planet. Educational stations will offer a deeper dive in local electrified solutions and offer opportunities to get more engaged.

Live music and food trucks will create an experience FREE for the whole family.
