Old Greenwich Restaurant Closes Following Accident

This week, after a car crashed through a cement wall at Oriental Gourmet at 214 Sound Beach Ave in Old Greenwich, the restaurant has closed.

Danny Chan, the owner of the restaurant, said his business had been impacted by Covid-19, like all other businesses, but they were still open at the time.

The Old Greenwich Volunteer Fire Dept responded, along with GEMS. Fortunately there were no injuries resulting from the crash.

“Unfortunately, this incident has closed the restaurant, especially at the start of our busy season,” he said, adding, “I have put my staff on leave until further notice.”

Chan said the popular Chinese restaurant had operated on Sound Beach Avenue for over 25 years.
