Mumbai Times Files for Tavern Liquor Permit

Mumbai Times Mumbai Times in Cos Cob has applied for a liquor permit from the Dept of Consumer Protection. Specifically, the owner has requested a Tavern Liquor Permit, at 140 East Putnam Avenue in Cos Cob. The Tavern Liquor permit allows the sale of wine, beer and hard cider not exceeding 6% alcohol by volume and wine to be consumed on the premises with or without the sale of food.

The legal hours of alcohol service for a Tavern Permit are Monday through Thursday 9:00am to 1:00am; Friday and Saturday 9:00am to 2:00am and Sunday 11:00am to 1:00am.

According to the application, there will be no live entertainment.

The tiny restaurant, located next to Domino’s in the hub of Cos Cob, serves authentic Indian food featuring both Southern and Northern specialties. They take reservations by phone, but not for Friday or Saturday night.

They do a brisk take-out business, offer delivery service and catering.

Mumbai Times currently operates as a BYOB location with no corkage fee.

The business is owned by Indian Natural Food LLC, Tarun Narula.

Objections must be filed by February 6, 2018.
