Big news for the Melt Mobile. Yesterday was their first day with a brand new truck. Now there are two, enabling the MeltMobile to visit Greenwich two or three times a week. On Wednesdays the melt truck continues to set up shop next to Anthropologie at 500 West Putnam Ave in Greenwich. On Thursdays MeltMobile will visit Greenwich Library. So far, this Greenwich Free Press editor has tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch melt and the California chicken melt with avocado, tomato bacon, buttermilk ranch. Call ahead for 5 or more sandwiches (203) 609-1422.
On Thursdays at 500 Putnam Ave LobsterCraft hot buttered lobster, is now accompanied by The Poutine King (@ThePoutineKing1 on Twitter). If you’re unfamiliar with Poutine, it is a Canadian dish of French Fries, Cheese Curds, and Brown Gravy.
The truck menu features “Poutine Traditional” as well as Sweet Potato Poutine with options of shredded chicken, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, bolognese sauce or avocado, sour cream and bacon.
The truck also serves a variety of extras including Nathans Hot dogs with options of onions, bacon, chili cheese. And there are cheese fries, chili cheese fries and mozzarella sticks too. Best of all, the prices are mostly between $5.00 and $9.00. Tel. 347-245-1089.
Closer to Central Greenwich there’s Wendy’s Weenies, owned by Wendy Mangano. A staple of the parking lot next to the Havemayer Building at 290 Greenwich Ave, Wendy also does birthdays, fundraisers and parties.
Wendy’s Weenies will be a presence at the Greenwich Town Party on May 24.
On Earth Day, Wendy was open for business as seniors did Tai chi in the adjacent field. Handy in case they worked up an appetite.
