Greenwich Chamber of Commerce Countdown to Sidewalk Sales 2026

Greenwich Chamber of Commerce director Andrea Blume, along with GHS intern Colin Reynolds and Charlotte Walsh, have been busy planning for the upcoming Greenwich Sidewalk Sales Days.

The Chamber, a 501(c)6 non-profit membership organization with almost 500 members, promotes and advocates for Greenwich businesses.

The sales run for four days, from Thursday, July 9 through Sunday, July 12, with a special additional event on Sunday.

Blume explained that this year participating local merchants – in downtown Greenwich Avenue from Putnam Ave to Railroad Ave, and neighboring side streets – will offer both indoor and outdoor shopping options.

But also, she noted, local businesses without a bricks and mortar presence on Greenwich Avenue have an opportunity to set up tents in front of The Wallace Center at 299 Greenwich Avenue.

“We have a vibrant downtown, but business has changed. Sometimes they are working from home or have a cottage business,” Blume said. “They have to be a licensed Greenwich business, but they can promote their business and sell their wares. A lot of newer businesses do that.”

“Non Profit Village”

Blume said on July 12 the non-profit village will be set up with tables in front of the Havemeyer building at 290 Greenwich Ave. Since this is the first year of the non profit village, there will be up to 10 non profits participating. Confirmed so far are Bruce Museum, Alliance Française, At Home Greenwich and Friends of the Wallace Center.

“We’re making it as easy for them as possible for them,” Blume said. “The Chamber is also a non profit and we’re very busy during the week and it’s a challenge to staff something for four days. So, it’s a one-day carry-in, carry-out for 10 non profits. They’ll set up tables in the shaded area outside the Havemeyer building.”

Blume said there is room for a few more non profits to participate with a table in front of the Havemeyer building. Interested non profits should call the Chamber at 203 869-3500.

Blume said that among this year’s sponsors are ONS, “JeepCity” (Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram City), a local car dealership on West Putnam Ave, and the Dowling Group, First Bank of Greenwich.

This four-day shopping event features over 100 local retailers and boutiques offering steep discounts on end-of-season merchandise, lining Greenwich Avenue and surrounding side streets.

Blume encourages shoppers as well as employees of businesses participating in sidewalk sales to park at Julian Curtiss School and walk to the Avenue.
