Beloved local farmers John and Kathy Augustin are readying to open their Greenwich farm stand this week.
According to Kathy, the farm stand at 1332 King Street will open for the season on Friday, June 27. It will operate seven days a week from 9:00am to 5:00pm Mondays through Saturdays, and 9:00am to 4:00pm on Sunday.
Originally John’s father started the farm as a hobby in 1952.

Although John and Kathy spell their last name “Augustin,” somehow, decades ago, the name “Augustine’s Farm” stuck.
Longtime friends and customers know Kathy sells honey from her bees as well as fresh eggs from her hens year-round.
But the farm stand is a bigger enterprise and this spring the endless rains have delayed opening day.
The farm stand will open for the season on Friday, June 27.
Starting this Friday, customers can expect to find a variety of produce including salad greens, scallions, carrots and radishes.
Also, look forward to squash, eggplant, potatoes, onions and yams.
And there will be peppers – sweet and hot – and both large plum tomatoes and cherry tomatoes.
Look forward to fresh corn from Pennsylvania. (Corn from the King Street farm will come later in the season.)
The farm stand will also feature fresh fruit including watermelon, peaches, plums, nectarines, grapes, cherries and berries.
“And, of course, raw honey raised here on our farm and fresh eggs daily from our hens,” Kathy added.
