Sweetgreen, the seasonal restaurant with the mission of connecting people to real food, has opened its first location in Connecticut at 102 Greenwich Ave.
Sweetgreen offers simple, seasonal, healthy salads and grain bowls made in-house from scratch, using whole produce delivered that morning.
The 2,727 square foot store maintains the original building facade featuring large windows overlooking Greenwich Ave and a pocket park.
The dining room, which features custom tile details, along with exposed brick, is anchored around the storefront windows to create a welcoming, light-filled space for customers.
The Greenwich location also includes a designated courier pickup window to better separate customer from courier traffic.
Sweetgreen is working with local artist Naomi Clark to create custom artwork for the Greenwich location that uses bold coloration, fragmented forms, and gestural brushstrokes.
For every meal sold on opening day, Sweetgreen will donate a meal via their Impact Outpost program to the Carver Center in support of food-insecure children and families in Port Chester.
In solidarity with the movement for Black Lives, Sweetgreen will also donate meals to the NAACP in Port Chester.
The restaurant opened in compliance with the Connecticut government’s social distancing guidelines for eateries, and follows Sweetgreen’s new safety standards, including mandatory face masks, elevated sanitation schedules, dedicated concierges to ensure safety compliance, and more.
