WARNER: Meskers Represents the State Leadership We Need

Submitted by Mike Warner, Greenwich

Political parties aside, any elected official or any executive for that matter, should be judged on the quality of their decisions, their willingness to listen to all sides of an issue and their ability to explain the reasons for their actions.

It’s been my observation that Steve Meskers does all of these things which is rare in these fraught times. That’s why I’m voting for Steve for State Representative in the upcoming election.

He supported a bipartisan balanced budget which protects us taxpayers even in inflationary times. Also, he got behind paying down our debt which will improve Connecticut’s credit rating, and he supported the first income tax cut in Connecticut since the 1990’s.

Perhaps most importantly, Steve listens to us. That’s why he helped secure a much needed $18.4 million to rebuild Central Middle School and why he continues to focus on local issues, which resulted in securing much needed funds for River House Adult Day Care Center, funds for the Boy’s and Girl’s Club, support for the renovations to the Senior Center and a roof for the Parsonage Cottage – all important to our community.

This upcoming election shouldn’t be about political parties, it should be about the quality of decisions our representatives make on our behalf and the actions they take to implement them. That’s why we need to return Steve to Hartford as our State Representative. It’s in our best interest.
