To the Editor:
Stamford’s progress depends on a strong working relationship with the state. School funding, infrastructure, and the services our residents count on all run through Hartford, and it matters who’s sitting in that room.
That is why I am supporting Amiel Goldberg for State Representative in the 149th District.
I serve alongside Amiel on the Stamford Board of Representatives, and I have seen how he approaches the job. He understands what the local government actually involves: tight budgets, competing priorities, and constituents who expect answers.
Too often, local leaders feel like they are calling into a black box at the state level. Amiel has sat on our side of that call. He would bring that perspective to Hartford, along with a willingness to listen to local officials and stay in close contact on the issues that affect our city.
Stamford is better served when its representatives at the state level know the work happening here firsthand. Amiel does, and I believe he will be an effective partner for the Board and for the city.
