LETTER: Kathleen Stowe is the Leader with Educational and Financial Skills needed in Stamford and Greenwich

Submitted by Bob Lion, Stamford

Our public schools face daunting challenges from infrastructure concerns, the need for new learning models, and the loss of revenue due to the ongoing pandemic. The Stamford Public Schools require state legislators that combine an understanding of how our schools can best function with a mastery of the financial markets that will determine the integrity of school funding. Kathleen Stowe has proven that she has the experience that combines these two skills.

Following in the footsteps of her father, she is serving on the Greenwich Board of Education.  Currently, Kathleen is Vice-Chair of the Greenwich Board of Education and also Chairs the Budget and Policy Committees.  She has 20 years of financial market experience, focusing on technology in investment banking, private equity and in her current business.  Her three children are being educated in the public schools. She knows how to balance a budget that addresses the needs of children, their parents and the financial realities we face.

Like the retiring District 149 Representative Livvy Floren, Kathleen has proven that she can work with all parts of her constituency. She stands for growth in the economy fueled by the many people and businesses that are moving to our area.

The 149th District needs her combination of educational and financial skills to guide us forward.
