LETTER: Fred Camillo Is a Man of Integrity

Letter to the editor submitted by Dave D’Andrea

Fellow Greenwich Residents, I am a native of Greenwich for over 68 years. I am a former member of the RTM and was chairman of the board of Parks and Recreation from 1980 to 2001. I am also the former Operations director for the Griff Harris public golf course. I strongly endorse Fred Camillo for the office of First Selectman for our town of Greenwich.

I’ve known Fred his entire life. I saw him grow up in this town, excel academically and athletically. I watched with pride as his catholic basketball team won the New England championship. And I was with his family when his dear sister Donna lost her battle with Leukemia.

Fred learned important lessons from the triumphs and tragedies of his youth. He learned to always love and give back to his community.

As many people know, Fred volunteered and continues to volunteer for youth sports. He coached and umpired baseball and basketball. He started an equipment drive so that all kids could get the gloves and bats and helmets they needed to participate in sports.

Fred is also a man of action and compassion. He organized a dog walk in honor of his sister Donna to raise money for Leukemia care and research with the hope that some day soon no one will have to lose their life to this horrible disease.

He has helped many residents in our community while representing us in Hartford.

Whether as a private business owner, or public servant Fred has always advocated strongly for Greenwich. He has earned the respect of Republicans, Democrats and independents because he is an honest reliable life long resident of our town.

There really is only one choice this November, Fred Camillo for first Selectman.
