Submitted by Randy Caravella, President and Peter Berg, Secretary, Cos Cob Association

Cos Cob has many Advantages:
• Cos Cob has a walk-able, bike-able village with Library, School, Post Office, Firehouse, shops and restaurants
• Cos Cob has a railroad station with ample parking.
• Cos Cob has many parks, playgrounds, ball fields, and courts.
• Cos Cob has CT’s first official Greenway, including: Pomerance-Tuchman, Montgomery Pinetum, Mianus River Park, Cos Cob Park, more
• Cos Cob has public access waterfront, public marina, public kayak launch, plus picturesque Mill Pond, Mianus Pond, and Mianus Harbor.
• Cos Cob has a rich history, including the Cos Cob impressionist artist colony, Bush Holley House Museum & Archives; two historic districts; Dumpling Pond; 9/11 Memorial.
• Cos Cob has a community garden and a fish ladder,
• Cos Cob has 2 churches (3 including Trinity Church) and a synagogue;
• Cos Cob is home to Kids in Crisis and Greenwich Adult Day Care.
• Cos Cob has a diverse population and a diverse housing stock.

But a few Disadvantages:
• Cos Cob village is divided by a 4-lane state highway.
• Cos Cob pioneered Safe Routes to School but needs more traffic-calming.
• Cos Cob School has inadequate student pickup and very little parking.
• Cos Cob needs more flood control.
• Cos Cob Library is very friendly but one-half the size of Byram Shubert with double the population; one-third the size of Perrot with equal population.

Proposed expanded parking lot at #5 Suburban Avenue (next to the Drawing Room).
