Open letter to Town of Greenwich Officials from Bill Effros
To: Board of Education of the Town of Greenwich; Town of Greenwich; Representative Town Meeting; Town of Greenwich Public Schools; Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of Greenwich; Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Greenwich; and the Greenwich community.
Three stadium lights at Greenwich High School were moved to the lowered maintenance position on June 26, 2026, and one stadium light was moved to the lowered maintenance position on June 29, 2026. They all remain in the lowered maintenance position to this day, notwithstanding posted notices prohibiting leaving them lowered.
Apart from safety concerns, leaving the lights in the lowered maintenance position damages the lights and poles, and voids the warranty.
GHS Stadium lights cannot be stored in the lowered position in the Off-Seasons.
