It’s election season and time to cast our ballots to vote for who will represent our town and state in Hartford and Washington.
In my short time on the Greenwich Board of Estimate and Taxation, I quickly learned how important it is for local leaders to work with state and federal representatives.
Whether the issue is education, public safety, or community enhancement projects, we need elected officials who will work hard to secure state and federal grant money to help pay for critical community projects to help lessen the financial burden on our town budget and our taxes! Grant funding brings our tax dollars home, and the Democratic delegation of Greenwich understands that!
Representatives Hector Arzeno, Rachel Khanna and Steve Meskers are rainmakers! Here are a few examples of how they have delivered for our community:
+$20mm for Central Middle School ($15mm more than expected)
+$6.5 for the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club
+$6.5mm for Glenville corridor traffic improvement
+$1.8mm for internet connectivity
+$400k for Greenwich library
+$150k for a new roof for Parsonage cottage
Arzeno, Khanna and Meskers are tireless public servants who care deeply about our most vulnerable residents and important infrastructure projects that keep Greenwich the wonderful community that it is. They are also fiscally responsible and understand that securing grant money is a return of our hard-earned tax dollars to help pay for the capital projects we need, while keeping our tax burden low.
Please join me in voting to re-elect Hector Arzeno, Rachel Khanna and Steve Meskers and elect Nick Simmons to join the team that will represent us in Hartford and keep grant money flowing back to Greenwich! Vote for the Rainmakers.
