It is my pleasure to give my support for Bob Chaney, one of the two endorsed candidates for the Board of Education. In one of my many conversations with Bob, I asked how he ended up running for the BOE. He smiled and said, “Well, it all started when I volunteered to help with the Book Fair at Julian Curtiss School.”
Like so many parents in our district, what began as one small act of volunteering grew into much deeper involvement, driven by dedication and care.
Over the years, Bob has taken on greater responsibility beyond that first hour at the book fair (though I hear he is still spotted helping in the GHS media center after last year’s staff cuts) to serving on PTAC and PTA executive board roles, leading building committees, representing his district on the RTM, and now stepping up as a candidate for the Board of Education.
This trajectory reflects Bob’s hard work, commitment, and genuine concern for our schools, our students, and the educators who support them every day.
Please join me in voting for Bob Chaney and Veronica Chiavaroli, the two candidates endorsed by the Democratic Party, on November 4.
Note: The deadline to submit letters to the editor about candidates for consideration in the Nov 4, 2025 municipal elections is Oct 28, 2025 at 12:00 noon.
