Greenwich Dept of Health: Drive through Flu Clinic at Island Beach Lot Set for Oct 24

The Greenwich Department of Health is organizing a series of Flu Clinics. The first one was held at Town Hall for employees on September 24. A second clinic was held on the 14th at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center.

A final flu clinic is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 24, from 10:00amto 3:00pm as a drive-through clinic at the Island Beach parking lot across from the ferry dock (rain or shine.) Up to two vaccinations per car.

“We are urging people to get their flu shots, especially during this year while we are in the midst of a deadly pandemic, and our COVID-19 numbers are once again rising,” said Dr. Stephanie Paulmeno, who is president of the CT Nurses’ Association.

Acceptable insurance coverage:
United Health Care/Oxford Insurance (Employee and/or family member who is covered must bring insurance card!)
Medicare Advantage
Traditional Medicare Part B. Aetna
Medicare Advantage will not be accepted.

Participants 65 years and older must bring Medicare Advantage ID Card/Traditional Medicare Part B card or other Advantage plan.

Fees with No Insurance Coverage:
Seasonal (4 strains) influenza vaccine: $35.00
High Dose Influenza vaccine (for those 65 years and older only): $55.00

Cash – exact change would be appreciated
Checks – must be made out to “The Town of Greenwich”
Credit Cards – Not Accepted

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, vaccination clinic operations support the reduction of person to person contact. Masks must be worn at all times and social distancing will be required.

Vaccine consent form must be completed, signed and brought to each vaccination clinic. There will be no vaccine consent forms available at the clinics.

Please wear short sleeves; all car occupants will be required to stay in their vehicle at drive thru clinic. The public is encouraged to call the flu line at (203) 622-3774 prior to attending any clinic. All changes to the set schedule will be recorded and publicized to the best of the Health Department’s ability.
