Greenwich Animal Control Seeks Tips on Abandoned Cat and Four-week Old Kittens

Greenwich Animal Control has been responding to an increased number of abandoned animals are are asking for help from the public about an abandoned cat and her kittens.

According to ACO Suzanne Carlin, on August 10 at 7:00am Greenwich Police responded to a call about a calico mamma cat and her five kittens abandoned in a box.

“The cardboard box of cats was an open dirty box with a dirty bath mat bottom,” Carlin said.

The box was found underneath the Bruce Park arch sign at the entrance to the playground, next to the garbage and recycling bins.

ACO Carlin said Animal Control has been responding to an increased number of abandoned animals and are asking for tips or details on these animals.

If anyone saw someone leave these animals behind or recognizes the calico cat or her four-week-old kittens to please call Greenwich Animal Control at (203) 622-8299.

Animal Control enforces local laws on keeping dogs, cats, and other animals. In addition, it supervises animal adoptions when a pet is not claimed by its owner.

Greenwich Animal Control is open seven days a week, from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.
