Jewish Family Services of Greenwich Seeks Compassionate Companion Volunteers

Jewish Family Services of Greenwich (JFS-G) is seeking volunteers to serve as Compassionate Companions for seniors and disabled individuals.

These volunteers will provide much needed social and emotional support to and from non-essential medical appointments and ensure a safe and pleasant experience. Transportation costs for both parties will be fully covered by JFS-G.

For many seniors and disabled individuals, attending medical appointments can be overwhelming and stressful, especially when having to go alone,” said JFS-G, Chief Executive Officer, Rachel Kornfeld. “This initiative will not only provide practical help, but also create a human connection, reducing feelings of isolation and anxiety.”

This volunteer opportunity is open to retirees, students, and anyone with the time and heart to give back to those in need. Whether you have a few hours a week or more, your time and compassion can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals we serve.

Key Details:
• Volunteers will accompany seniors or other identified individuals to and from medical appointments.
• Transportation and costs will be provided and covered by JFS-G.
• Flexible scheduling options to accommodate volunteers’ availability.
• Volunteers will receive training and support to ensure they are fully prepared.
