Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich Celebrates Excellence and Community at 57th Annual Awards Night

“It brings together extraordinary Club members, parents, families, and community leaders in celebration of great futures. It is the resounding ‘why’ as to why Boys & Girls Clubs are needed in every community — giving kids positive activities after school and during the summer.”

Among the standout honorees were members of the Spring Travel Basketball Team, who earned the title of 2025 Boys & Girls Clubs of Connecticut State Champions, also securing the Western Division title. The Winter Travel Basketball Team, Barracudas Swim Team, and Volleyball Team were all recognized for seasons marked by sportsmanship, dedication, and growth — key values at the heart of BGCG’s athletic programs.

The Barracudas Swim Team had another remarkable season, breaking records and bringing home multiple titles. Their success was made possible in part by the strong partnership with the YMCA of Greenwich, this year’s recipient of the Community Partnership Award.

“For the past two years, while our Clubhouse has been under construction, the YMCA of Greenwich has been an exceptional community partner,” said Cristina Vittoria, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich. “They opened their doors to our Barracudas Swim Team and welcomed our youth with open arms. We are truly grateful for their generosity, collaboration, and steadfast support of our mission.”

Awards Night also recognized the vital role that leadership, service, and mentorship play in youth development. Greenwich High School student Michael Mamani received the Joanna Schulman Teen Community Service Award for his volunteerism, while alumnus and part-time staff member Francesco Violanti was honored with the Don Palmer Knuckles for Life Award for his exceptional service as a staff member and mentor.

As the evening concluded, the event served not only as a reflection of past achievements, but as a launchpad for future successes. Through academic success, athletics, character & leadership programs, and support from dedicated partners and mentors, the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich continues to shape the next generation of leaders.
