Thursday was a scorcher. All across town, residents turned on their air conditioners and people working outdoors felt the brunt of it.
The lucky ones headed to Tod’s Point, where beach passes are not required until May 1.
Friday’s weather forecast is for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 86° and light winds. Another perfect beach day if you can get there.
The hot, sunny weather will end in time for the weekend. The National Weather Service forecast is for rain and a high year 65° on both Saturday and Sunday.

Fire Danger
NOAA issued a special weather statement on Friday on the risk of fire because it is so dry:
Conditions remain quite dry with continued low relative humidity through today. Minimum relative humidity levels will be below 30 percent, and down around 20 percent in some locations. Thus, there remains the continued risk of fire growth and spread through today.
