Plans Announced for August Three-Day St Roch’s Feast 2025

At St. Roch’s Church in Chickahominy volunteers are busy planning their annual summer feast – with a twist.

Typically the church feast features cardinal rides and games on the Hamilton Avenue School field as well as on church property.

However, the school parking garage is undergoing major repairs that will likely require two summers to reach total completion.

Construction fencing was erected at the end of June, and the campus is closed for the summer.

According to the GPS Capital Projects update, the project is likely to require two summers to reach total completion.

Nevertheless, church volunteers are planning a three-day feast on church property on Friday, Aug 15, Saturday, Aug 16 and Sunday Aug 17, 2025.

This won’t be the first time the feast will be limited to church-owned property. That was the case when the school was under construction several years ago.

Also, since the last feast, the church pastor, Father Carl McIntosh retired and the new pastor is Father Peter Lenox.

According to the July 6 church bulletin, the celebration will be bigger and better than ever.

Friday, Aug 15 On opening night on August 15, the fun begins at 5:00pm with an incredible evening of mouthwatering food, vendors, live entertainment and thrilling rides for all ages.

Saturday, Aug 16 Saturday features all-day fun, starting at 11:00am and running until 11:00pm.

The highlight of the day will be the procession with St Roch starting at 3:00pm, and the drawing of the St Roch raffle at 11:00pm.

A bilingual mass in both English and Italian will take place at 5:00pm.

Sunday Aug 17. The final day of the feast, Sunday, Aug 17, is being billed as a “delicious finale,” with a special day of food after all masses.

Breakfast will be served after the 7:30am and 10:00am masses.

Or join after the 12:00 noon mass for a feast of international lunch cuisine for a culinary journey you won’t want to miss.

The July 6 church bulletin invites all to, “Bring your friends, bring your family, and experience three full days of tradition, laughter, and togetherness. Come for the rides, the music, the faith or the food.”
