New Parks & Rec Summer Program “Smart Start” Features Active Play

The Town of Greenwich Parks & Rec Department announces a new summer program called Start Smart to be held at Byram Park.

Take a break from the pool or beach to actively play with your child!

Start Smart is a developmentally appropriate introductory sports program for children ages 3-5.

The program prepares children and their parents for organized sports in a fun, non-threatening environment. Age appropriate equipment is utilized in the program.

Parent-child groups perform fun tasks which work on developing the skills of throwing, catching, batting, and kicking.

The activities played in the program will build confidence in the children while they are having fun.

The Start Smart program will take place on six Tuesday mornings at Teufel Field in Byram Park from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A Parent Orientation meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 2 from 5-6 p.m. at Town Hall. The fee for the program is $95.00 per parent-child couple. Registration is available online and by mail for Greenwich residents. Registration forms with checks payable to “Town of Greenwich” can be mailed to Town Hall Parks and Recreation Office. In person registration at the Parks and Recreation Office begins Monday, June 17.
