Fri., Nov. 14, 10:00am – 5:00-pm
Sat., Nov 15, 10:00am – 4:00pm

The club, located at 89 Maple Ave in a spacious Victorian mansion, has ample parking and brims with room after room of unique gifts. There are also visits from Santa, raffle prizes and “Grandma’s Kitchen.”

For years the annual two-day shopping event has become a destination for people seeking handmade and one-of-a-kind gifts. All proceeds from the two day event benefit the Club’s philanthropies and scholarship fund.

Editor’s Note: André Lanoux designed the Greenwich Free Press logo. He was provided a piece of vintage bark cloth to work with and the idea of timeworn letters and the rest is history.

Screen Shot 2014-11-11 at 12.09.06 AMBorn and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Lanoux received a Fine Arts Degree from Louisiana State University.  For the next 30-plus years, he lived and worked in New York City as principal of his own firm Andre Lanoux Designs. He divided his time between graphic design, textile design, product design for the home, and fine art painting.

Screen Shot 2014-11-11 at 12.08.42 AMIn 2004 Lanoux moved back to New Orleans after nearly a 35-year absence.

Unfortunately, just one year later, he experienced incredible losses in the fury and devastation of Hurricane Katrina. When he was finally rescued by The National Guard, he had only the clothes on his back and one canvas bag of possessions to his name.

However, Lanoux consider himself very fortunate to have been able to rebuild his life here in Greenwich. He now lives  quietly in a small cottage surrounded by flowers, birds, squirrels and deer, and he paints every day.

Many of Lanoux paintings and designs have been reproduced on greeting cards. Blank inside the notecards have been a hit at the past several years of The Woman’s Club Holiday Boutique, and Lanoux returns again with an array of holiday themed cards, monogram cards in a variety of colors (Don’t see what you like, Lanoux can custom make you a set). Many of his notecard designs are of vintage women and there is even a theme called “Camp.”
