Local Scouts Place Flags on Graves of Veterans in Greenwich

Over 65 Scouts and volunteers gathered on Wednesday, May 26 in support of the American Legion Post 29 by placing flags on the graves of veterans at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Over 1,200 flags were placed, with the guidance of Jim Heavey, ASM T35 and member of American Legion Post 29.

Many thanks to all of the Scouts and the parents, Pack and Troop Leaders who guided the Scouts with the project.

Scouts will continue to honor veterans over Memorial Day weekend as they march in community parades including the Glenville Volunteer Fire Company & 9th District Veterans Association on Sunday, May 30 at 5:00pm and Monday in the Old Greenwich Memorial Day Parade organized by the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Dept at 10:00am.
